This compilation also marks the beginning of a new period: while 2007 was the stage of the Pesto.Digital project - transforming Pesto from a vinyl label to a digital imprint - with excellent but relatively few releases, 2008 will be the "mother of release fireworks". We have an incredible bunch of talent with outstanding tunes in the pipeline and there are even more to come. We will have more single releases, more remix issues and also more compilations - featuring both exclusive Pesto material and tracks from other labels we partner with.

We can hear some "yeeaaaah - finally!" from your side of the screen.
More details magically popping up on this page very soon.
After Traxx already got support from the elite of techy DJs (such as Ali Dubfire of Deep Dish, Pako & Frederik of Sitrep and many more), we bring you another pounding release ranging between deep Tech House and pumping Progressive choons. We'll publish more details about the artist "Khaan" and his work (he recently put out a release on the highly acclaimed "Pearldiver" imprint and also made a remix for "From P60" and their "New Way" tune on Pesto 010) on this page within the next few days.
The whole EP consists of the tunes "New Way" and "Be What I Wanna Be" and comes with a large bunch of class A remixes. Among the appreciated remixers are top notch names like Nikola Gala, Subsky, JP & Chris Mill, Khaan and Cristian Paduraru. Pesto 010 will have the Nikola Gala and Khaan remixes as well as some more edits by Pesto's Jon Silva.
The release has been split into exclusives for Beatport, Stompy and Traxsource. And while it's already out on Beatport, Nikola Gala's remix was climbing the charts (with a #22 peak position on Beatport's House charts). We'll let you know when you can get the other mixes on Stompy and Traxsource (and only there for the next few weeks).
Part 2 of the mixes will be out in January 2008 including the other remixes - more details here in brief.
Chapter One of the immensely successful CD series will be released as a digital download. We'll offer both the individual tracks (with quite a bunch of unreleased productions such as by Nuance Movement, Soda Inc., Jon Silva and many more) as well as the whole mix.
One tune will be exclsuive to those who buy the full album: "Theme Of Vic Bar" - a tune especially made by Jon Silva & Babak Shayan for the Vic Bar in Cologne.
More details regarding the track list and availability on this page in brief. "Beautiful & Timeless" is brought to you in cooperation with Shayan Music.

We are glad that we got a feature on Trackitdown.net. Here's what they say about the Dub Mix of "I Want U":
"Jon Silva returns on the ever expressive Pesto music label, lots and lots of mixes on this, this is the dub mix (Still has a vocal in there though!!), quality house music."
Hopping over the ocean, our friends from Stompy also feature the release:

A lot of DJs (especially those being members of our promo pools) already play out the tune. Now, several top names of the industry show their support for Traxx: Ali Dubfire of Deep Dish (USA) charts Traxx001 on #2 of his Beatport charts, Global Underground artists Pako & Frederik (Netherlands) told us they would hammer the track on their radio shows that are broadcasted on 35 stations worldwide, DJ Meri of Estonia's Rulers of the Deep just sent us a message: "Hell yeah! This track is one of my alltime favorites!!".
More details on Traxx as well as on the upcoming release Traxx002 (did somebody say "Addicted"?) soon.
[update: until now (27th June, 3pm) Traxx001 has reached #25 on Beatport's Techno charts. We take bets on the highest future position..hehe]
This release has been long awaited as one version was already featured on the Bar1 mix compilation on Shayan Music among some other CD compilations.
We have smashing remixes by Claus Casper (from Cologne's S-Sentials who also remixed Soda Inc.'s "Full Moon" (Jon Silva is also one of the masterminds behind Soda Inc.)) and Kellyyss, our good friend and "engineer for the deeper sound", as he's often referred to.
For those who already know the Bar1 version, we offer a radio edit of that one and will make the very original mix (back from 2003 - you see? Good music doesn't grow old, it just matures like a good wine) available as the next Pesto Freebee. Our friends on last.fm already got the 128kBits file, the Pesto Freebee of this one will be at 320kBit as always, though. If you are registered with last.fm, make sure to become friends with us in case you haven't yet!
Accompanying the new release, you'll get the full package that you expect from Pesto including a new PestoMix (that will be mixed by Jon himself, of course) and a new PestoCast featuring Pesto 009.
Expect more details here next week.
Pesto Music is also available through all other major download stores such as iTunes, Trackitdown and many others. We will publish a complete list with all stores offering our catalogue in brief.
We are further investigating what made the iTunes team come to this conclusion and will keep you updated. Our guess, regardless of the reason is: the reason will be pretty funny. Maybe "Jussi ate too much Acid Remix" stroke them a little as some of the staff felt remembered of bad trips back in the 1970ies. Hee hee.

Here's the feedback (by alphabetical order):
Agent Greg, Greece:
I just adore the original mix and the "Be There Dub"! Excellent release!!!!
Alex Flatner (Circle Music):
without no doubt the original mix is the best for me... very catchy and a great track to remember on the dancefloor...it has such a great vibe with the voice, that the voice and the beats you think are really ONE ...Great Release on Pesto and for me till yet the best !
Andreas Hansson, Sweden:
This is a great track one of my favorites at the moment and i think i will play it for a long time. Favorite mixes is the orignal and catchbass remix.
Big Al (Readymix Records), Canada:
Thanks for the promo. I absolutly love Be There Dub and El Farouki's Dub and Club Mix #1 instrumental and since I am not a big vocal guy myself, I also wish you had the Original Mix without the Vocals. Anyway, thanks for this. I love your sound. It's in my bag. [note: we will have that on the final release, fyi)
Chris Niteshake (Locked Groove), Greece:
I think the original track is a stormer. Simone De Nauw has a really beautiful voice I would definitely hear any track from now on from this lady! Now, the remixes are tough. Hard to choose from. Jon Silva did good work on the club mix (version 1). The Spin Science remix is a fantastic atmospheric production. El Farouki doing also a good work embedding his unique style in his remix, I prefer his dub. Electrique mix is for the electro house fans out there. And the "Luvelectro" is 808 action in his finest! Original - Silva - Spin Science - Luvelectro in my bag!
Christian (C&M Productions), Switzerland:
many thanks for the promos!!!!! great release the 008!!!!
Da Funk (Acryl), Switzerland:
what a release here for pesto!!! the original is such a great piece of music! wonderful harmonies, melodies and a badass bassline! killer track! the spin science and the catchbass mix are also pretty ace! great job!
Dana Bergquist (Symphonic, Pryda), Sweden:
Absolutely amazing, this you might have track of the year already!! Hard too choose best mix out of them, I like them all especially Original, Spin Science (all mixes) and Electrique Instrumental. Can't express it enough, simply beautiful, makes me have hopes for the house scene in this all too minimal climate we're in nowadays.
DJ E360° (Sysex Records), USA:
I think all the tracks are quality. Definitely getting plays in all my sets @ WMC in a few weeks. I have also played it over the weekend and got good reaction to the Club Mix 1. The vocals are hot.
DJ Linus (Exun), Germany:
absolute the best pesto release ever! my favs are "be there dub" and "electrique remix"! will play them every weekend @ Pacha. full support guranteed
Franco Martinelli (housepage.net), Italy:
Very nice release, this fresh vocal-house track is served in several remixes to please all the dancefloors. I prefer the more housey Spin Science Remix and Be There Dub .

Nice package with a few different options. Liking the 'be there dub' best, love the stab and the vox sits sweetly on it. Good job!
Gabriel Sordo (Underground Lessons, Somuns Corp.), Mexico:
Fantastic release!
">Henri Kohn (A&R Clubstar, Conya), schäl sick:
my fav is still the original though Catchbass, Spin Science's, Club Mix #2 and El's Dub are also cool
Jay Serano (soulsessions.nl), Netherlands:
As I'm only playing at cocktail bars, pool parties, vip lounges, chillout clubs and the likes.. This track is already locked in my set. Played it last saturday at The Mansion Amsterdam and got a great crowd response! Thanks for sending me the promo and keep up the good work!
Jeff Bennett, Sweden:
Luvelectro is the one for me, nice one.
Jerry Kaye, USA:
loving the original... nice and groovy. also like the spin science remix..Great release guys!
This is end of part one. The other reactions will follow in brief.
What definitely helped a lot in gaining attention was Neil Quigley (Urbantorque) playing the Spin Science remix as the opener of his DJ set on John Digweed's legendary "Transitions" on London's Kiss FM. Thank you, Neil!
DJ feedback will be published in a second news bulletin in brief - this one would get way too long...

Alex Flatner (Circle, Monoid, Gedankensport): The Jon Silva is a very catchy and clubby remix i already see people jumping on the dancefloor, the Chris Niteshake ... is very deep and quite sexy... very nice remix. I am sure this release will make its way in many boxes of the djs
Dusan Kacarevic (Serbia): I am not wondering why so many headliner djs choose him to support.Great job again Babak
MDJ (Italy): (Jon Silva's Club Mix) It's a multi-purpose mix, particurally indicated in uplifting phases. Very useful to have it in the bag...I'll' have
DJ Meri (Rulers of the Deep): I love this whole packade.. all mixes are my cup of tea. For every mood and situation on the dancefloor. Very nice work
